Our best practices
During the construction of Soubre Power Station in Ivory Coast, the company was commited to :
- promote local employment by recruiting 5.000 local workers and seeks to make a lasting positive impact promoting professional development through hundreds of long term employment;
- achieve agreement with local entreprises lto buy local materials and equipment
- build local markets structures, housing, schools, local hospitals, waste water treatment station
During the construction of Coca Codo Sinclair Hydropower project in Ecuador, SINOHYDRO provided raw materials and equipment to pave the roads for the small city Chaco. The company also provided tap water access and waste treatment station.
SINOHYRO awarded scholarships for 60 Angolan engineers to study civil engineering and hydraulic engineering at the Polytechnic University of Wuhna in China.
Sasuma dam project supported education programs in four local primary and high schools.
SINOHYDRO participated in the emergency program in the Yushu quake zone in Gansu, in China.
With Global Environment Institute (GEI), a Chinese NGO, SINOHYDRO designed corporate citizenship programs for the Nam Ngum 5 hydropower plant in Laos, including resettlement of the affected population.
